Lever Seated Leg Press (version 2)

Sit on the machine with your back firmly against the padded support and feet placed shoulder-width apart on the footplate. Push the platform away by extending your hips and knees, keeping your heels flat and core engaged. Stop just before your knees lock out, then slowly lower the platform back down until your knees are bent to about 90 degrees. Maintain smooth, controlled movement throughout.

How to Do the Lever Seated Leg Press (version 2)

  1. Sit on the machine with your back firmly against the pad and feet placed shoulder-width apart on the platform.
  2. Release the side safety handles to bring the platform under load.
  3. Brace your core and keep your lower back pressed into the pad.
  4. Bend your knees to lower the platform toward your chest under control.
  5. Lower until your knees reach about 90 degrees, keeping your heels flat.
  6. Push through your heels to extend your hips and knees, pressing the platform away.
  7. Stop just before your knees fully lock out at the top.
  8. Reset the safety handles once the set is complete.

Common Mistakes

  • Letting the knees cave inward: Knees drifting toward each other under heavy load stresses the knee joint. Track your knees in line with your feet throughout the press.
  • Lowering the platform too far: Letting your lower back round off the pad as the knees pass your chest shifts strain onto the spine. Stop the descent once your knees reach about 90 degrees.
  • Locking the knees out completely: Snapping the legs straight at the top transfers stress onto the joints. Stop just short of lockout and keep tension on the quads.
  • Placing feet too low on the platform: Setting feet near the bottom edge puts excess pressure on the knees. Keep feet centered for a balanced, controlled range of motion.
